It's Sunday, which means Mass and church shop and collecting money off the congregation. In a way I'm a tax collector. Be the tax voluntary.
Something went down at lunch yesterday in Thorndon but I'm not a gossip. There are some humorous people who have a knack for using swear words in a non offensive way; and I think you have to be a bit precious to get upset. Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr and yes, RBB come to mind.
In the first reading the writer (Luke?) describes unclean spirits exiting people shrieking from those who were possessed. Acts 8:5
The second reading gives sage advise about being ready to give an answer with a clear conscience to those who slander you that they may be proved wrong in the accusations that they bring.
In the Gospel Jesus says that if we love Him we will keep His commandments...He loves those and they will live and He will show Himself to them.
I had a nice day indoors rearranging the couches and cleaning up and restocking the aquarium. The fish levels had got a bit low (three tetrons and one bottom feeder). I purchased ten more baby tetrons and a Chinese fighting fish as a 'show stopper'
(that's what the helpful sales lady called it). I had a snail investation from a live plant I had once; so removed a couple of dozen of them. Overfeeding seems to be a fault I have and encourages them plus blocking the filters with nasty brown algae. She says a fishes stomach is only as big as its eye. I don't think she was deliberately being aphoristic.
I better get moving ....
Have fun and don't stress.

I thought that Jesus drove tax collectors and money men out of the temple.
