Yesterday I had a whim to learn more about the universe. The gardener said he had heard it was a big black hole. I doubted this so I listened to some of John D. Barrow's "The origin of the Universe". John knows his stuff. Not John the gardener. Of course it quickly got very complicated. John Barrow accepts the big bang idea and rejects a recycling universe for scientific reasons. He says no one knows if the universe is infinite or finite. He talks about the observable universe because we will never see many of the stars and galaxies due to the limitations of the speed of light and something to do with the speed everything is whizzing apart. And that speed even has to be a very precise exact number or it would overcome gravity and nothing would form.
I've always been in favour of the 'fine tuning' philosophical club. There has to be an intelligent creator. Chance and randomness have never created anything but chaos. The second law of thermo dynamics... entropy increases with time.
The engagement party is getting closer. I'm thinking of having just champagne (Duetz) and a couple of expensive liqueurs for after! I wish I knew a wine expert to advise me.
Have fun and watch out for teachers at public schools ..20% are pedophiles. You are statistically safer at a Catholic school ..3 %
Here we go.
