Wednesday

 My oh my, Wednesday already.

Jesus tells a story about stewardship today ending in those enigmatic words "To everyone who has will be given more, but from the man who has not, even what he has will be taken away". I can hear RBB being woke and saying everybody should get the same. What an unfair king. Robert's God is mean. Read the whole parable in Luke 19:11-28. But the man who practises his violin is going to get more talent; and the lazy man who doesn't practise his cello will lose his skills. We are all stewards of our talents. Actions and choices have eternal consequences. We have to use our talents God has given us for His kingdom!

Have you ever wondered how much a captain of a USA nuclear powered aircraft carrier gets paid? A maximum of $300,000 NZ. But he does that for 2-3 years then gets a percentage as a pension for the rest of his life

Have fun and thank your guardian angel for trying to keep you from sinning.

  1. That Jesus stewardship quote sounds like it came right out of the National Party and Act manifestoes.

  2. My particular talent is laziness which I have honed over the years.
Should I not be rewarded for this?

    1. Yes, as with all vices there are 'rewards' or more precisely consequences

    2. Do you not think you should have been a weather forecaster - in the Scottish Hebrides or something - seeing that you like to be the bearer of doom and gloom?

  5. Actions and choices have eternal consequences. Hmm? That may be a problem if someone spent their time judging others and revelling in smug supposed piety.

    1. If actions truly have eternal consequences, then yes the most dangerous choice anyone could make would be to spend their precious time judging others instead of cultivating virtue and love. They may be inadvertently sealing their own fate! Thanks for the comment.
