Malachi 3:13-20 ""You say harsh things about me" says the Lord..."you say "it is useless to serve God; what is the good of keeping his commandments?"...a book of remembrance was written in his presence recording those who fear him...but the day is coming now, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant and evil-doers will be like stubble. But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will shine out with healing in its rays".
The Gospel Luke 11:5-15 "...how much more will God the Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him".
The Gospel incourages us to perservere in prayer...maybe we don't think that receiving the Holy Spirit is much of a gift. I guess it underlines how we can do nothing without the Spirit. As life is not really worth living without love, so too being left to ourselves is really a form of hell.
Today, October 9th is a very special person's birthday. Happy birthday to that person, I'm thinking about you heaps.
I'm also hoping that fellow blogger The Curmudgeon's house sale goes through. It has been a long road but hopefully he gets what he wants.
The temperatures are slowly creeping upwards. 17C today, 19C predicted on Sunday.
Have fun and call on God to send down the Spirit.
Sale went unconditional today.
ReplyDeleteA seagull was hovering around. Was it the Holy Ghost?
